The brief

SCCG approached us with the goal of improving their website’s performance and user experience while aligning with their brand identity. They required a solution that could either optimise the existing site or involve a complete rebuild, continuing to use WordPress but shifting from Elementor to Advanced Custom Fields (ACF).

• Slow performance on mobile devices
• Poor Core Web Vitals scores affecting SEO
• Outdated design that did not reflect their market-leading position
• Need for a system manageable without extensive coding knowledge

The project began with a comprehensive consultation phase, where we thoroughly analysed SCCG’s existing website and performance metrics. Understanding what worked and what didn’t, we devised a strategy focused on either iterating the existing site or opting for a complete rebuild, both using WordPress with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF).

More specifically, we delivered on their brief by:

• Performance Enhancement: Implemented advanced optimization techniques to significantly improve site speed and functionality, especially on mobile devices.
• Core Web Vitals Improvement: Developed a detailed strategy to enhance Core Web Vitals scores, improving both user experience and SEO performance.
• Design Overhaul: Conducted a comprehensive redesign to ensure a consistent, elegant aesthetic that aligns with SCCG’s brand identity and market position.
• Reiteration/Rebuild Strategy: Offered two paths: iteratively optimise the existing site structure and design or completely rebuild the website on a more performance-oriented platform.

Our collaborative process enabled us to thoroughly understand SCCG’s business and objectives. The primary reason for the client’s desire to update their website was its extremely dated appearance. We developed a design system that would evolve over time and help them stand out among their competitors. We crafted a timeless user experience that can be adapted and modified as the business grows. 

During the build phase, our primary goal was to provide SCCG with a robust system that could be easily managed and updated without requiring extensive coding knowledge.

The transition to WordPress with ACF allowed for a cleaner, more efficient build, ensuring long-term maintainability and ease of content management. We focused on creating a system that could be effortlessly populated and managed, enhancing both backend functionality and frontend user experience.
